What is a Credit Score?

Credit Scores are critical in your adult life and will determine whether you will get approved to purchase a house, car, etc and the terms of the loan such as interest rates. Credit scores range from 300 to 850 with 300 being very poor and 850 being Excellent. To the left we can see a spectrum of the different scores.

What Your Credit Score Matters

Your credit score is important when applying for loans or credit cards. It decides whether you qualify and how much interest you'll pay.

But lenders aren’t the only ones who check your credit score:

Landlords may check it before renting you an apartment.
Employers might review it during background checks.
Utility companies could use it to decide if you need to pay a deposit.

Your credit score can affect your ability to borrow money, where you live, and even job opportunities. That’s why it’s important to build and maintain a good score!
